Description

Join us on Christmas Eve for a day trip from London to the beautiful South! This festive tour will take you to some treasures of Southern England including Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and the White Cliffs of Dover. After taking a peek at the English Channel and enjoying a brisk Christmas Eve stroll along the beach, you’ll return to London for a tour of Maritime Greenwich followed by a River Thames boat ride!

Private Visit to Leeds Castle
Leave London behind and join our professional guide on a journey that will whisk you deep into the Kent countryside. The coach will first take you to Leeds Castle for an almost private visit of this idyllic fortress. The Castle is located on islands in a lake and is surrounded by 500 acres of lush parkland! Once described as the “loveliest castle in the world”, Leeds Castle dates back to 1119 and was home to Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Explore the Castle and its historic rooms during your morning stop.

Walking Tour of Canterbury
Arriving in the picturesque city of Canterbury, you will take a walking tour to discover the medieval city and find out why this quaint settlement is known as the centre of English Christianity. See the Gothic-style cathedral and the site of Archbishop Thomas Becket’s grim murder in 1170. Canterbury has a heritage that has defined the Britain we know today and you will learn about this fascinating past during your visit and walking tour.

Traditional Two Course Lunch (Click here for sample menu)
Tuck in to a delicious two course lunch at a venue close to the spectacular Cathedral.

White Cliffs of Dover
After bidding goodbye to Canterbury, you will get back on the coach for the short ride to the White Cliffs of Dover. The gateway to England, these stunning cliffs have greeted visitors for thousands of years! The tour will pause briefly for a photo stop along the coast and will give you an opportunity to breathe in that crisp sea air. Back on the road, you’ll pass the 12th century Dover Castle, location for the filming of Hollywood motion picture ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’.

Greenwich
It’s now back to London and to the South East district of Greenwich. This World Heritage Site is located on the banks of the River Thames and is full of fine maritime landmarks. You’ll see beautiful attractions such as the magnificent Old Royal Naval College, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the Royal Observatory and world-famous Cutty Sark.

River Thames Boat Ride
Your day trip on Christmas Eve comes to an end with a lovely boat ride on the River Thames. Get a fresh perspective on the wintry sights as you sail from Greenwich to Embankment Pier, passing Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, HMS Belfast and many more famous London attractions.

After disembarking the boat at Embankment Pier, your tour comes to an end and you are free to spend the remainder of your Christmas Eve in London as you wish!

This tour finishes at Embankment Pier at approximately 6:30pm.
