Description

Enjoy a Boxing Day to remember during this day tour from London to three celebrated destinations. Leave the city and join your expert guide during a trip that will take you to places filled with historical significance! A walking tour of Oxford will be followed by a drive through the Cotswolds, a stop in Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon and a visit to the medieval Warwick Castle.

Walking Tour of Oxford

Leave festive London behind and travel in a comfortable coach to Oxford – your guide will tell you all about this renowned university town on the way! It’s been a centre of academic excellence for over 900 years and famous past students include Bill Clinton, C.S. Lewis and Lewis Carroll. You will take a guided walk of Oxford to see city highlights such as the pretty college courtyards, ancient town squares and the Bodleian Library – it’s one of the oldest libraries in Europe!

Cotswolds
After leaving Oxford, the tour will drive through the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and boasting some of the best countryside views for miles around! The Cotswolds are an enchanting blend of rolling hills, little market towns and traditional villages.

Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon

The market town of Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of a very famous playwright! William Shakespeare was born here and spent much of his life in this pretty Warwickshire town. You’ll see the rustic half-timbered house where Shakespeare grew up before taking a break from the tour with a two course lunch.

Entry to Shakespeare’s Birthplace
Visit the home where Shakespeare was born and lived for a time with his wife Anne Hathaway during a visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace. This half-timbered house and the town of Stratford influenced the playwright immensely and you will be able to walk through the rooms where Shakespeare himself once lived out his extraordinary life!

Two Course Lunch
A two course lunch will be enjoyed at a historic pub in Stratford-upon-Avon, perfectly complementing your scenic tour!

Warwick Castle

Say goodbye to Stratford-upon-Avon because the tour now takes you to the Middle Ages! At the 1,100 year old Warwick Castle, you can experience what medieval life was like in a real castle. During your authentic experience at this incredible fortress you have the opportunity to feel the weight of a sword, try on a battle helmet and see the State Dining Room decorated for a Victorian feast! Set in 60 acres of landscaped grounds and gardens, Warwick Castle immerses visitors in the history and traditions of the Middle Ages. (Please note: entrance to Warwick Castle Dungeon is not included in this tour).

After visiting Warwick Castle, the tour will head back to London for an early evening arrival.

This tour will arrive back in London at approximately 7:00pm.
